"Thanks to Smart Fitness, my gains in strength and core stability have allowed me to train injury free for the first time in 5 years. With a specifically developed programme, I have seen a step change in my runing which has allowed me to achieve my goals."

“In February 2007 I suffered a serious knee injury whereby I needed to undergo knee surgery (ACL repair). Having already had the misfortune of having this happen a second time I knew how important it was to get support throughout the long and intense period of rehabilitation to ensure a quick return to full fitness and a pain free lifestyle.
Being involved with the fitness industry myself and having a good knowledge of many of the local trainers and coaches available I was encouraged when I saw Nick Grantham had relocated to the region to set up Smart Fitness. Being aware of Nick's previous achievements and roles I didn't hesitate in joining Smart Fitness.
I started training with Nick and his team in December 2007 and six months on my knee feels strong, pain free and I am back to full training. Not only this but it has given me the incentive to change my diet and exercises routines due to a previous feeling of staleness when training. I can wholeheartedly recommend the services of Smart Fitness and the professionalism, support and attention to detail that comes with each session. Thank you.”

‘I worked with Nick for 4 months during my recovery from a serious Achilles injury. As well recovering from injury I wanted to increase my lean muscle mass so that I could sit at the top of my weight category. Nick helped me achieve both of these goals. His training sessions were intense and he pushed me to my limits, but somehow he always seemed to be able to make the training enjoyable. Nick is a great coach as well as a good friend.’

‘‘Gymnastics is all about strength and power. Seven weeks prior to departure for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games I fractured my hand in two places! Nick played a major role in my rehabilitation and with his help I maintained my strength levels and improved my cardiovascular endurance, which gave me the confidence to face the Olympic Games where I achieved a personal best.’
Craig Heap (Olympic, World and European Finalist, Captain of the 1998 and 2002 Gold Medal Winning Commonwealth Games Team)
'Nick has the ability to develop strength and conditioning programmes that fit perfectly with my gymnastics specific training. His conditioning programmes have always struck the perfect balance of making me strong without being bulky. I first started working with Nick at the end of 1998 for post-op rehab of an ACL reconstruction. In addition to the extensive work programme for my knee, Nick also designed a programme to improve my upper body strength. The programme worked beyond my expectations and allowed me to compete at the 1999 World championships in China. Nick continued to work with me, my results began to improve, and for the first time in my career I made a Rings final at a Grand Prix event and then went on later during the year to qualify for the European Vault final. Gymnastics is a tough sport and Nick is an exceptional strength and conditioning coach who has helped me return from injury many times and earned himself the name Nick 'the body mechanic' Grantham!. I have now retired from international gymnastics and work as a circus performer in the United States. As a performer I require different strengths to those I used during my gymnastics career and Nick continues to design programmes that keep me in fantastic condition. His programmes throughout the years have been a crucial part of my success and I am sure that his knowledge can be adapted to any elite athletes sporting requirements.'
